Malaysia Day Prayer Rally 2010

Dear Pastor/Elder/Leader,

Shalom!

This is the first year the nation celebrates Malaysia Day on September 16, and the government has officially declared the day as a public holiday. It is historical and significant to recognize and remember when Malaysia was formed.

Though the Federation of Malaysia have been in existence for the last 47 years, having Sarawak, Sabah and West Malaysia celebrating this day is a milestone. We have a common identity and heritage, though we are geographically apart. This patriotism is however so lacking among Malaysians today. Even for the Malaysian church, for years Merdeka Prayer Rally and Malaysia Day Prayer Rally have been celebrated differently. As Malaysian citizens let us continue to uphold our nation with the following prayer items:-

  1. The sense of oneness for all Malaysians irrespective of race, religion and ethnicity, acknowledging that God has His destiny for every one of us.
  2. There is both physical and spiritual healing as God's children for we stand equal before the Lord.
  3. Uphold the government of the day to rule the nation with justice and righteousness and to have the fear of God.
  4. Malaysia to continue to exercise freedom of worship as enshrined in our constitution.

We would encourage you to join the Malaysia Day celebration in the churches that are hosting this special event in your local area.

Have a blessed Malaysia Day 2010

Yours in Christ
