Speakers' Profiles

YAW CHUN SOON is the Executive Director of TA Securities Holdings Berhad, a Participating Organisation of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad. Prior to joining TASB, he was an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya and practiced law for 7 years. He has been in the stockbroking industry for 14 years and was the President of the Association of Stockbroking Companies Malaysia.

Bro. Yaw worships at SIB, Kuala Lumpur and is the Head of Marketplace ministry. He is also a Board member of Asian Outreach and FCCI (Malaysia). He graduated from University of Canterbury and was called to the High Court of New Zealand as a Barrister and Solicitor.

 

DR. WONG HONG MENG was involved in management consultancy, merchant and commercial banking and stock broking for about 30 years before taking early retirement in early 1999 to refocus his life priorities and to be available to respond to the Lord's call. After retirement, he remains active in the business world serving in a non-executive capacity on the board of a number of companies and the investment committee of some unit trust funds.

Bro Hong Meng worships at Calvary Church, Kuala Lumpur, and was the chairman of its men's ministry for a number of years. He is currently the National Director for Leadership Development for the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship. He is a certified course director for a Christian authored personal leadership program. He facilitates the "Financial Freedom" seminar from the Institute in Basic Life Principles as well as "Business by the Book" seminars from Crown Financial Ministries.

He is a chartered accountant and a chartered company secretary with an honours degree in economics from the University of Malaya, an MBA from Cranfield and a DBA from the University of South Australia.

 

DATUK TONY TIAH is the Executive Chairman of TA Enterprise Bhd, one of the top 100 companies in Malaysia listed on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (formerly known as the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange). The Company is engaged in stock broking, financial services and property development in many parts of the World. As of today, TA Enterprise has a shareholder's fund in excess of two billion Malaysian Ringgit.

Datuk Tony Tiah holds a Master of Business Management Degree. He has been in the corporate world for more than 36 years and was the Chairman of the Brokers Association of Malaysia and a Committee Member of the Bursa Malaysia. He comes with a wealth of business experiences and an ability to align the spiritual truths with the practical realities of life. Having a keen sense of the business challenges faced by Christians in the marketplace, he has a passion to share the lessons he had learnt from applying God’s principles to the business in a secular world so that Christian businessmen can experience the blessings of God.

He is married with 5 children and 5 grandchildren. Together with his wife Datin Tan Kuay Fong, the Managing Director of the Company, they both run TA Enterprise Bhd. Both Datuk and Datin are devoted born again Christians of over twenty years. They pray every morning with their staff before work and every Tuesday at lunch-time they have their TA Fellowship to worship God at the office chapel.
