CFM’s Hari Raya Haji, Ka’amatan, Wesak Day and Gawai Greetings.
The Christian Federation of Malaysia (CFM) extends warm greetings to all Malaysians celebrating Hari Raya Haji, Ka’amatan, Wesak Day, and Gawai.
As these festive celebrations fall consecutively on the same week, Malaysians once again witness the beauty of our nation’s rich cultural and religious diversity. Such shared celebrations, often fondly referred to as “Kongsi Raya”, reflect the spirit of mutual respect, friendship, and unity that has long shaped our society.
Malaysia’s strength lies in our ability to live together peacefully as people of different faiths, cultures, and ethnic backgrounds. In a diverse society such as ours, harmony cannot be taken for granted. It must be intentionally nurtured through understanding, acceptance, sincere dialogue, and cooperation.
Our diversity is a blessing that enriches the nation with different traditions, perspectives, and experiences. When embraced with goodwill and mutual respect, these differences become a source of strength that deepens national unity and social cohesion.
At a time when the world is increasingly marked by division and polarization, Malaysians must continue to uphold the values that bind us together:
Respect - recognizing and honoring the beliefs, practices, and traditions of others.
Acceptance - embracing our differences with openness, humility, and grace.
Communication - engaging with one another sincerely and peacefully to foster greater understanding.
Cooperation - working together for the common good and the wellbeing of all communities.
These values are essential in building a peaceful, stable, and progressive nation where every Malaysian can flourish regardless of race or religion. By celebrating one another’s festivals, respecting places of worship, and learning from each other’s cultures and traditions, we strengthen the bonds that unite us as one people.
The Christian Federation of Malaysia calls on all Malaysians to continue safeguarding the harmony we share and to reject all forms of hatred, intolerance, and division. Our future as a nation depends not only on economic progress, but also on our collective commitment to justice, compassion, mutual respect, and unity.
May the celebrations of Hari Raya Haji, Ka’amatan, Wesak Day, and Gawai inspire renewed hope, peace, and solidarity among all Malaysians.
To all Muslims, we wish Selamat Hari Raya Haji.
To all celebrating Ka’amatan and Gawai, especially our brothers and sisters in Sabah and Sarawak, we wish you a joyful and meaningful celebration.
To our Buddhist friends and neighbours, we wish you a peaceful and blessed Wesak Day.
