NECF Monthly Prayer Bulletin - October 2012

NECF Monthly Prayer Bulletin - October 2012

1. Year of Jubilee

On 16 September 2012, Malaysia entered her Year of Jubilee. This period begins from 16 Sept 2012 to 15 Sept 2013. Throughout this period, we call upon the Church to remember and pray for the nation's poor, bound, broken, impaired and oppressed for to experience restoration, liberty and rest as expressed in Luke 4: 18-19.

2. Ministers Appreciation Month

October is also Ministers Appreciation Month. Ministers - our pastors and leaders - are God's gifts to the Church for the equipping of the saints for ministry. To some, the work of a Minister appears to be glamorous. But unknown to many, behind all the titles and stage action, the work of a Minister can be very challenging and lonely, to the point that it affects their personal, marital and family life. It takes God's grace to serve His people who have many expectations and needs because of their individual personalities. In this month of October, let us remember to pray for our Ministers as well as render kind deeds that can encourage and show them that their labour is appreciated.

3. Pray for the States - General Elections

Since July, we have been praying for selected states as Malaysia heads towards the general election. We began with the states to the north and included basic statistical information as a guide for your prayers. This month we are covering the central and southern states. Pray for wisdom, righteousness and a God-fearing spirit for the leaders of these states and for God's sovereign will among the people.

4. Crime Rate

Despite statistics that indicate a drop in crime rate, criminal activities such as snatch theft, burglary, rape and murder continue to occur regularly. This has made our streets and neighbourhoods unsafe places for the community and our families. Let us pray for the safety of our streets and neighbourhoods. Let us pray for the restoration peace and safety. Let us pray for a halt to all criminal activity.
