Dear Pastor, Elder & Church Leader
On the night when our Lord Jesus Christ was born, a host of angels appeared before some country shepherds in the fields praising God and saying:
“Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”
(Luke 2:14)
As we approach this blessed month of Christmas, the Council calls on Christians to pray and bless the nation with God's peace and love.
This will start on December 1st (Saturday) and ends on December 7th (Friday):
For 7 days
For 7 minutes
At 7.00am and/or 7.00pm
Therefore the call is tagged as "7.7.7." THE CALL TO BLESS THE NATION WITH GOD'S PEACE AND LOVE.
On 8th December (the following Saturday), we suggest that proclamation and declaration of His peace be made upon all in our beloved nation.
Jesus came so that the world may know peace. Thus, without peace there can be no joy, no love, no future, and no hope.
The Prophet Jeremiah once said, “And seek the peace of the city……, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace.” (Jeremiah 29:7) The Lord has placed us in this nation to be His channel and vessel of peace and love.
As we take note of the new challenges that the nation is facing, the Council calls on every church to take this call seriously.
During the seven days of prayer, NECF will be posting devotional prayer guides which will be made available through WhatsApp and its Facebook page. Please use and share them freely with other Christians to enable them to pray as well.
