Love East Coast

29 December 2014

Dear Pastors/Elders and Leaders,

Further to our urgent call for Unceasing Prayer on December 26, 2014, we now urge our members to rise up as our nation is experiencing the worst flood in decades. This is an opportune time for us to showcase our Christian love and be responsible citizens to help rebuild our nation.

The number of people displaced has reached over 200,000 and this is expected to increase. Over the last three (3) days, NECF in partnership with CREST, HIS Team and the Full Gospel Business Fellowship Malaysia (FGBM) have been active in providing urgent relief work in the East Coast areas affected.

Meetings have been held with our partners and other various relief agencies, to evaluate and formulate action plans. We have been in communication with the ground level and are closely monitoring on a daily basis, the relief work being carried out.

Some churches have opened their premises to be Goods Drop Centers for food, clothing and medicine. We also plan to provide boats wherever possible, standby generators, and practical post-flood assistance in cleaning homes, light repair works, etc.

NECF has set up a core team to monitor the situation led by our Assistant SG, Pastor Andy Chi. He has in the last few days touched base with the East Coast churches affected and the relief agencies at the respective areas.

We seek your financial support for this "Love East Coast" project. These funds would be disbursed to the various relief agencies and churches who are currently in the forefront.

All donations/gifts should be made in the name of "National Evangelical Christian Fellowship" (NECF). If you so wish, a direct transfer can be made to our Public Bank Account 3-0789728-07. Please fax the banking slip for our records or scan and email it to finance@necf.org.my for the attention of Kathryn Tan.

Let us continue to uphold our nation in prayer, as much remains to be done in the next few days.

Yours truly,
Rev Dr Eu Hong Seng
Chairman
NECF Malaysia
