Event Title: 60th Merdeka Day Assembly
31-Aug-2017 to 31-Aug-2017 Past Event
Venue: Sidang Borneo Kuala Lumpur (SIBKL)

Dear Pastor, Elder and Church Leader,

In conjunction with our country’s 60th Merdeka celebration, we will be organizing a Merdeka Day Assembly on August 31st from 9.00am to 6.00pm at Sidang Injil Borneo Kuala Lumpur (SIBKL). This Assembly will focus on the reading of the Word and prayer as recorded in Nehemiah Chapter 9.

On the twenty-fourth day of the same month, the Israelites gathered together, fasting and wearing sackcloth and having dust on their heads. Those of Israelite descent had separated themselves from all foreigners. They stood in their places and confessed their sins and the wickedness of their fathers. They stood where they were and read from the Book of the Law of the LORD their God for a quarter of the day, and spent another quarter in confession and in worshiping the LORD their God. (Nehemiah 9:1-3)

Throughout the day, we will be reading, reflecting and praying based on the books of 1 Kings, 2 Kings, Ezra and Nehemiah. We believe that by saturating and reflecting on the Scriptures, we can build and strengthen our Prayer Altar to intercede for our nation, community and family.

The schedule of the Assembly is as follows :

9.00am            Opening & Worship

9.30am            Reading of 1 Kings
11.45am          Refection
12.00pm          Prayer

12.15pm          Reading of 2 Kings
2.30pm            Reflection
2.45pm            Prayer

3.00pm            Reading of Ezra & Nehemiah
4.45pm            Reflection
5.00pm            Prayer

5.15pm            Closing & Worship
6.00pm            End

We encourage you to come with your family, church or cell group members. If they are present, you will be grouped together with them for the reading and prayer. As you read the Scriptures and pray in your groupings, you will learn how the Prayer Altar is raised.

It is best for you to join the Assembly before the start of each reading session. This is to ensure sufficient time for you to complete the reading of each selected book.

Please remember to bring your Bible. You will need it for the reading of the Scriptures. The reading is not restricted to any particular Bible version.

This assembly is open to all where other language groups can also join us for this Assembly. They can read and pray in their native language.

Do announce and circulate this info to your congregation and to other churches in the Klang Valley. Let us all come together as one and call upon the Lord for this nation.
Sincerely,

Rev Andy Chi
Assistant Secretary-General
